WESTPORT, Conn., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Alan Meckler, chairman of Mecklermedia Corporation (Nasdaq: MECK), announced the formation of the Internet Media Group which includes its publications Internet World and World-Wide Web Week, Meckler Web, and the ancillary advertising promotions associated with the Mecklermedia's expositions, Spring and Fall Internet World and the new WebXpos.
Paul Bonington, publisher of Internet World and World-Wide Web Week, has been named group publisher. "This move formalizes what we've been doing all along, that is providing Internet marketers with integrated solutions in print, in person, and on the Web. We're finding many of our customers are looking for strategic relationships, and we are the only organization providing all three Internet media solutions," said Bonington.
In conjunction with the expansion, Harry T. Versen was named associate publisher, western region, for the group. "Harry brings us more than 14 years of experience in high tech publishing and will be the Internet Media Group's anchor on the West Coast," said Bonington. Versen was most recently with the International Data Group as associated publisher of Advanced Systems magazine.
Internet World magazine is the market's first and largest publication serving Internet users with a paid circulation of 160,000 projected for the June 1995 issue. World-Wide Web Week is the first business-to-business publication of the Web controlled to 25,000 senior technical, business and creative managers building the largest commercial Web sites. Spring and Fall Internet World are the world's largest Internet expositions, with the Spring '95 show drawing a record 27,000 attendees.
